ISTANBUL, Turkey--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 2, 2004--Bombardier (TSX:BBD.A) (TSX:BBD.B) is showcasing three of its aircraft at AIREX 2004 being held at the Istanbul Ataturk Airport, June 3 to 6. The aircraft on static display include the widebody Bombardier Challenger(i) 604, and the ultra long-range Bombardier Global(i) Express business jets. Also on display is the world's most advanced turboprop, the Bombardier Q400(i), in the last stop of its successful worldwide demonstration tour.
Bombardier Aerospace will also be present in the Exhibit Hall with a kiosk in Hall 1, as well as greet its visitors at the Bombardier chalet. It is the third time that Bombardier Aerospace is participating in this biennial event, which attracted more than 15,000 delegates at its last show in 2002.
'We are pleased to underscore our commitment in Turkey and throughout the Middle East as we continue to develop new aircraft that meet the needs and high expectations of our customers,' said Mike Fahey, Regional Vice President, Sales, Middle East and Africa, Bombardier Aerospace Business Aircraft. 'Bombardier has one of the largest fleets of business jets operating in the Republic of Turkey and, with a 43 per cent share, is the leader in the large business jet segment. I have every confidence that Bombardier aircraft will continue to grow in number here.'
'We believe that the Bombardier Q400 and our CRJ(i) Series regional aircraft are well-suited to meet the needs of the airline market in Turkey' said James Dailly, Vice President, International Sales, Bombardier Aerospace, Regional Aircraft. 'In addition, we believe that there is very good potential for our Q Series(i) turboprop aircraft in non-airline applications.'
Bombardier Challenger 604: Certified for operation in 46 countries, the Bombardier Challenger 604 has established a proven track record for dependability, reliability and outstanding value, making it the best-selling jet in its class. With a maximum cruise speed of Mach 0.82, (541 mph; 870 km/h) and an intercontinental range of over 4,000 nautical miles (7,408 km), the Challenger 604 can connect Istanbul and Gander or Ankara and Hong Kong.
Bombardier Global Express: There are over 120 aircraft in service worldwide since the first aircraft entered service in 1999. The Bombardier Global Express continues to prove that it is the definitive ultra long-range business jet. Flying at Mach 0.89, (590 mph; 950 km/hr), just under the speed of sound, it flies farther, faster than any other business jet, connecting Istanbul and Seattle or Ankara and Manila in record time. Its successor, the Global Express XRS, offers even more range at higher speed, a superior cabin and performance enhancements.
Bombardier Q400: The Bombardier Q400 represents a giant leap ahead of any other regional airline turboprop because of its jet-like, 360-knot (667 km/h) cruise speed, superb passenger comfort, state-of-the-art flight deck and the lowest operating costs of any regional aircraft, jet or turboprop. The ability of the 70 to 78-seat Bombardier Q400 to deliver profits to its operators has been well proven by airlines in Europe, North America and Asia who are enjoying great success with the aircraft.
